Weekly COVID-19 Update: The Importance of Airflow – Episode 38

This week Dr. Nick van Terheyden and Fred Goldstein discuss two important studies that point to the issue of airflow and the spread of Coronavirus in enclosed spaces.

The first was a very detailed study from South Korea that documented infections occurring in a restaurant entitled Evidence of Long-Distance Droplet Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 by Direct Air Flow in a Restaurant in Korea

The other entitled Airflows inside passenger cars and implications for airborne disease transmission looked into airflow in a moving car and determined where you should sit and which windows should be open to provide the least risk of infection.

Both provide additional information that can be used to reduce risk.
