Sustaining University Operations during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Here is an excellent article Sustaining University Operations during the COVID-19 Pandemic  published in Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness by Ben Ryan et al, on the work done at Baylor University to open and operate during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  There are many recommendations that they identified which can help other schools and businesses operate safer, including:

  • Establishing a Population Health Team
  • A “Swiss Cheese” approach to reduce risk
  • Testing services
  • Adequate contact tracing resources
  • Communications strategy
  • Cleaning and HVAC
  • Following CDC guidelines on masks, social distancing and hand washing
  • Creating a comprehensive dashboard, and others
